In a child-centered classroom, children are at the center of learning and the teacher's role is to sit beside the child to see what they can do and then provide opportunities for them to build on what they know.
Here at Sit Beside, we believe that all children have an innate curiosity about their world, deserve to be confident learners and feel empowered in any learning environment.
Through hands-on, discovery-driven learning experiences, Sit Beside provides children with the tools and strategies they need to be reflective, collaborative, and engaged learners in a rigorous academic environment.

Our programs meet inside a remodeled school bus that’s been designed to provide a safe haven for learners to gather, explore, create, and collaborate with each other.
The interior of our mobile learning studio becomes a welcoming and calm environment for learners to feel at ease, inspired to learn, and curious about trying new things to expand their minds.
The Sit-Beside bus travels around Fort Worth to serve small groups of learners for each of its uniquely designed programs.
About the Founder
With over 18 years of education experience, Jennifer Hannah has witnessed and guided the growth and confidence of countless students as they learned to advocate for themselves in small group learning environments.
Jennifer also spent 11 years teaching in an inquiry-based classroom where children were put in the driver's seat of their educational journey and focused on reflecting on their learning and celebrating their growth.
Jennifer keeps the social-emotional component of teaching at the center of her approach, never losing sight that this connection is what allows the learning to happen. Through her use of humor, creativity, and resourcefulness, Jennifer makes every learning experience interesting and valuable for every child she supports.
Sit Beside, a learning studio on wheels, was born as a result of Jennifer’s one-of-a-kind teaching style and her vision to create a community of learners where children could be risk-takers and find a sense of belonging for who they are.
A life-long learner herself, Jennifer absolutely loves bringing magic and energy into the learning environment, creating safe havens for students to learn, ask questions, dig deeper, and be adventurous with their education. Jennifer has a Master’s Degree in Education as a Reading Specialist and holds a Masters in Special Education with a focus in Gifted and Talented Education.

Math Foundations
A learning support program to help 2nd-5th grade mathematicians build mastery in foundational math skills and reinforce current learning objectives.
Writer’s Workshop
A learning experience for 3rd-5th grade writers to explore new writing skills and strategies, experience the writing process, and share their writing with peers in a risk-free, multi-age environment.
Book Club
Book Club is a small group learning experience readers participate in book discussions, review phonics skills, build vocabulary, and develop their reading comprehension skills.
